Instructors

 

 

Lloyd Caldwell teaches Acting and Voice on the Theatre Faculty of Oklahoma State University. In a career spanning 25 years he has appeared off-Broadway and regionally, and has acted in feature films and television. A stunt person and stage combat instructor, he has performed at the Banff Center for the Arts, the Stratford Festival inn Stratford Ontario, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In addition he has lectured on stage combat for the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Smithsonian Institute Program for Young Audiences, and has taught workshops for various institutions of higher learning including New York University and the University of Toronto. In June 2001 Lloyd completed a three year appointment as the Executive Director of the service organization to fight directors and stunt people worldwide. He has published articles in theatre history and is  writing a book on the history of the fight director.

 

 


Matthew E. Ellis is an Assistant Professor of Movement and Acting at the University of Oklahoma.  He holds an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy with an emphasis in Movement and Fight Directing from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Matthew has worked as both a professional actor for the past ten years and a professional fight director for the past five years.  His fight direction credits include Man of La Mancha, Breath, Boom!, As You Like It, MacBeth, Come Back Little Sheba, Quay West, Beauty and the Beast and Taming of the Shrew among others.  His acting credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream as Puck, Romeo and Juliet as Romeo, The Boys Next Door, Cyrano de Bergerac, Picnic, Kabuki MacBeth, The Apollo of Bellac and more. 

 

 

 


Erick Wolfe teaches movement and stage combat at the Oklahoma City University.  As the founding member of the School of Stage Combat, Erick Wolfe has been training professional actors and performers for over 10 years, and has worked with top rated performers and directors from all around the world. His fight credits include Opera, Ballet, Theatre, Commercials, Television, and Film. Erick Wolfe is a Teacher with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat and with the Association of Performance Combat, and the stage combat representative for the Association of Theatrical Movement Educators. Erick is also a member of Fight Directors Canada and Society of American Fight Directors. He is resident fight director with Tulsa Opera, and teaches the stage combat course at Opera in the Ozarks.
